Cupping Massage

Cupping massage involves special cups that a therapist places on your skin to create suction. There are several different reasons why people choose to do a cupping massage, and some of the issues this form of massage can help with include inflammation, poor blood flow and stress. This is considered a form of deep-tissue massage. The cups are made of different materials, including glass, bamboo, silicone and natural materials such as clay.
Cupping therapy is extremely popular at the moment, however it is a form of therapy dating way back to ancient Egypt and other Middle Eastern civilizations. The cupping massage can be dry or wet. A therapist will use a flammable material such as herbs or alcohol to set the cup on fire. As the fire dies down, the massage therapist will put the cup upside down on your skin. As the air in the cup cools down, a vacuum is created that raises the skin and expands the blood vessels.
